Here's a video of Monte Montgomery playing Jimi Hendrix' Little Wing on acoustic guitar. It's pretty awesome. It lasts 10 minutes and 5 seconds. So anyway, last week I went down to Asheville, North Carolina and saw Monte play at the Orange Peel. The show was great. I thought it was a bit too loud, but I guess maybe I'm just getting a little old. Here are a couple of the pictures I snapped:   
After he played for more than two hours and left, the crowd kept stomping their feet on the resonant wooden floor for an encore until he came back and played two more songs, the last of which was Little Wing. And at the end he literally rips all the strings off his guitar. I would have been disappointed if he didn't play that song. But he did, and I wasn't.  |
